Côte d’Azur with Chanel, I

I just came back from the loveliest couple of days in the South of France together with Chanel yesterday. My body is completely exhausted after working myself to the bone before leaving and running around all day and staying up until early morning to finish work and edit photos. Phew! But boy it was absolutely worth it. I travelled to Hyères in the South of France to attend the International Fashion & Photography Festival in during a couple of days, which is an event I've always heard lots about but never had the chance to see with my own eyes until now.

After a few rainy days in Paris I can't describe how lovely it was to see both the sun and the sea again. I hope you don't mind me sharing the experience here with you. There were so many beautiful things to capture and so many activities, shoots and events during just a few days – which resulted, as you can see, in an overflow of images. 

The festival happens every season and this year they organised it for the 32nd time. The festival takes place at Villa Noailles, just outskirts of Hyères and has a view to die for (therefore so many snaps of pretty landscapes – again sorry about that). It's a place to come together, be creative and share a lovely moment together. There's a little bit for everyone I would say, including art, fashion and photography (plus a pretty epic gift shop and coffee truck). A favourite was definitely one of the finalists for the accessory price (look at those incredible glasses) and the photography exhibition by Tim Walker. 

Another highlight was getting to try out embroidery on our own for the very first time. With none other than the staff from Lesage(remember this?). I can't say that I'll have a future in the craft anytime soon but it was definitely interesting trying it out and by doing so even getting more respect for the profession (if that's even possible). I have to say that the work that goes into the pieces they create is just insane... 

10 designers were selected to show their collections in Hyères to some of the most important and influential people in the industry. Can you imagine that pressure? It was so exciting and interesting to see so much young talent, crazy ideas and combinations I've never seen before (both good and bad). The show ended with last year's winner, Wataru Tominaga, showing the collection he was able to create together with Lesage (remember when I went there last year for a look behind the scenes of the making of the Chanel Haute Couture collection?).
